Dr. Read is a native of the greater Phoenix metropolitan area of Arizona. Playing soccer at a competitive level growing up, Dr. Read was first introduced to podiatry when he received treatment for a variety of foot and ankle injuries. He further developed an interest in podiatric medicine and surgery during college while working in a physical therapy clinic and assisting with post-surgical rehabilitation.
In 2015, Dr. Read graduated from Arizona State University with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Applied Biological Sciences. He went on to attend podiatry school at the William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine in Chicago, Illinois. In 2019, he graduated with National Honors, being inducted into the Pi Delta Honor’s Society. During podiatry school he received an award for academic excellence in sports medicine. Dr. Read completed his residency at Scripps Memorial Hospital Encinitas where he fine-tuned his clinical and surgical treatment. Specific areas of focus during residency included sports medicine, reconstructive foot and ankle surgery, and diabetic foot care. During his residency, Dr. Read received training from Dr. Collin Smith, as well as other esteemed foot and ankle physicians.
When not attending to his patients, Dr. Read enjoys spending time with his wife and beautiful daughters, playing soccer, running, mountain biking, surfing, and reading. Dr. Read lived in Madrid, Spain for 2 years and is also fluent in Spanish.
